woodhands is based in Toronto after stints in Montreal, Vancouver and Paris. At the moment it is mostly a two-piece (synths/drum programming/vox + drums), with some value-added every once in a while (more vox + bass). It all started - and still does - with piano.
We released a self-titled album in 2005 - you can read some reviews in the press section. We toured Canada in August/September 2005. Our show has been described by Toronto's Now Magazine as "a particularly exciting live beast". We've been compared musically to Holy Fuck, Goblin, Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, and Chocolate Weasel, and Dan has been described as looking like the grown-up version of the keyboard player in School of Rock and Napoleon Dynamite. He thinks he looks like a young Marlon Brando and sounds like Prince.
We are all in multiple bands. Some of these are The Bicycles (TO), Henri Faberge & The Adorables (TO), The Screaming Eagles (Vancouver), The Rural Alberta Advantage (TO), Jazz for Robots (Vancouver), Township Expansion (TO), and Andyland (TO).
